Tanycyte subtype adjoining the dorsomedial arcuate nucleus; NR2E1+ in human embryonic tanycytes (rodent alpha tanycytes also Fabp7, Vcan).

Cell Ontology : alpha2-tanycyte · CL:4042018 (correspondance exacte) — Tanycyte of the third ventricle, located immediately ventral to alpha-1 tanycytes. These cells project to the ventromedial and arcuate nuclei of the hypothalamus and express the glial marker S-100β.
