Self-renewing multipotent stem cell at the apex of the blood hierarchy; human HSC are Lin- CD34+ CD38- CD90+ CD45RA- CD49f+, mouse HSC are LSK CD150+ CD48- CD244-.

Cell Ontology : hematopoietic stem cell · CL:0000037 (correspondance exacte) — A stem cell from which all cells of the lymphoid and myeloid lineages develop, including blood cells and cells of the immune system. Hematopoietic stem cells lack cell markers of effector cells (lin-negative). Lin-negative is defined by lacking one or more of the following cell surface markers: CD2, CD3 epsilon, CD4, CD5 ,CD8 alpha chain, CD11b, CD14, CD19, CD20, CD56, ly6G, ter119.
